Minimum Wage
Victory in Florida
On January 1, Florida’s minimum wage rose by 25 cents per hour,
to $6.40, which is $1.25 more than the federal minimum wage. Workers
in Florida can thank voters who passed a minimum wage referendum
in 2004 over the opposition of the business community and Florida
Governor Jeb Bush.
